Ulysses Loken is a pianist, composer, and educator based in New England. His most recent appointments include those at College of the Holy Cross, Clark University, and Tufts University.

Dr. Loken has performed in concerts across New England, California, the Pacific Northwest, and Louisiana, collaborating with principal members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Lake Charles Symphony, Eugene Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, the San Jose Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. He has performed at festivals and events including the Oregon Bach Festival, the Northwest Horn Symposium, the Marshanne Players Chamber Music Series, the Curious Flights Series, the Old First Concert Series, and elsewhere.

Active as a teacher of piano and music theory, he has been on the faculty and staff at College of the Holy Cross, Clark University, Tufts University, McNeese State University in Louisiana, Academy of Art University, City College of San Francisco, San Francisco State University, Ruth Osawa School of the Arts, the San Francisco Community Music Center, and The Shedd Community Institute in Eugene, Oregon.

He holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano with a Secondary Area in Music Theory from the University of Oregon and a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from San Francisco State University. He is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) through the Music Teachers National Association Professional Certification Program.
